The Farm

The Grigolato family, led by the young and enterprising Michael, decided from the beginning to embrace, in addition to the organic method, also the Biodynamic method, for vineyards, olive trees and fruit trees (cherries, peaches, apricots, pomegranates, plums, caki, apples and pears).

It covers over nine hectares, of which six are planted with vineyards. Here, the chestnut woods with their large and majestic plants protect numerous species of wild animals.

The Grigolato family purchased it in 2008 with the aim of recovering and enhancing the original ecosystem through a broad intervention process inspired by biodynamic processes.

The first action was the conversion of the cultivation of the vines: green manure between the rows, dynamized manure horn and mature manure to fertilize the soil, deep aeration, absence of pesticides, modest quantities of copper and quarry sulfur sprayed at certain times of the year , manual pruning that follows the descending phase of the moon.

n 2014, 2 hectares of resistant vines were planted: Muscaris, Souvignier Grìs, Cabernet Cortìs, Cabernet Cantor and Chambourcin. These vines don’t require any copper and sulfur treatment as they are naturally immune to downy mildew and powdery mildew. There is no shortage of suitable vines of the territory: Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara for the production of Bardolino and Chiaretto Doc wine.
